The year began with an important structural change. With Suzanne Darouiche as 2nd Board Member and Petra Kutschal as Chief Financial Officer, the Board was reorganized. These personnel changes strengthened the internal organization and gave the association new stability for the coming development steps.
A big thank you to all our donors for their appreciation and support of our project and we are delighted that national player Jonathan Tah is also part of our TPJ community. Such gestures mean a lot to us, not only financially, but also as encouragement for the work we do every day.
In terms of content, we deliberately broadened our horizons at the beginning of the year. In training courses and seminars, our trainees dealt with global production conditions in the textile industry. Watching the film “The True Cost” together led to intensive discussions about responsibility, fair work and the role we ourselves want to play as future producers.
A real highlight during this phase was the Woori Festival in Ghana, the weaving festival at which our woven fabrics were presented to the public for the first time. For many of the participants, it was the first time to show their own work in a larger cultural setting. The recognition from other local weavers was particularly valuable. A moment full of pride, visibility and real encouragement.
